G & K Lawson Constructions were awarded the design and construction of the new Auxiliary Fire Station for Clifton in November 2012. During the design stage the location of the building was shifted from in the centre of town to the outskirts next to the local pool. Construction commenced in September 2013 and was completed by the end of February 2014.
The structural steel was fabricated in our workshop by skilled staff which allowed us to achieve our construction time frame. The new facility is equip with a fully functional Ladder Drill Platform located on the roof of the Engine Bay and a hose drying rack out the back; these items were also fabricated in-house before being transported to the galvanisers.
The new facility includes a 74m2 open storage mezzanine level, 74m2 of ground floor office space and a 2 bay engine area for the fire trucks.
