The design and construction of the replacement Mt Tamborine Auxiliary & Rural Fire Station was completed mid 2013. Our contract included the demolition of the original Fire Station built in 1965 to make way for the shared Station.
The new station boasts an administration building for the Auxiliary & Rural service, 2 bay Auxiliary Engine shed complete with a roof mounted Ladder Drill platform, a separate 4 bay Rural Engine Shed with a mezzanine storage level to maximise productivity without increasing the building size. External features include a fenced and gated practical training area and a relocated training pole from the previous station.
The occasional cyclonic wind conditions on top of the mountain made it difficult at times constructing this project, with access to the Mountain cut off for one week at the beginning of the project; though this did not stop us from handing the building over to the local Fire Fighters on time.
