G & K Lawson completed this purpose-built gymnasium for local real estate magnate Killea Investments Pty Ltd in February 2012. The building features 300m2 of open plan floor space, with amenities plus office spaces for staff.
The western elevation showcases a custom-made Perspex screen, which not only shades the full height windows from the hot Queensland sun, but also provides a visual point of difference to this modern building.
A clever combination of exposed aggregate concrete tilt panels, custom made “grooved” feature panels, painted tilt panels and tiled surfaces combine with the architectural roof lines to create an eye catching yet hardy building.
