G & K Lawson Constructions were awarded the design and construction of the new Auxiliary Fire Station for Clifton in November 2012. During the design stage, the building was shifted from the centre of town to the outskirts next to the local pool.
Construction began following this change in September 2013 and only minor adjustments were to the design to suit the block and the construction of the new Station continued without any further delays. The project was completed in February 2014.
The new facility contains a mezzanine level open storage area, ground floor office space and a two-bay engine area for the fire trucks. The structural steel was fabricated in our workshop by skilled staff, allowing us to keep to our construction timeframe. The new facility is also equipped with a fully functional Ladder Drill Training Platform located on the roof of the Engine Bay and a hose drying rack out the back.
